DIY Ideas to Increase Storage Space in Your Kitchen Cabinets

For traditional kitchens, often new DIY ideas work in building some new and better storage spaces. With the use of wood and plywood, you can add some more racks and panels to your kitchen cabinets that will bring a new look to the kitchen and also increase its storage space. Mostly, storage becomes the main issue in a pantry, and a lack of proper storing of the things makes the organization more difficult.

So, here are a few DIY ideas that can increase your space and storage in the kitchen.

Knife racks
Storage space for knives can be made by cutting the mid of a wooden panel to the size of the different knives and cutters you have. Fix the rack on the panel and place the knives and cutters in these racks. With this, a separate space is created for your knives among the different kitchen cabinets

Roll out cabinets
This cabinet can be highly functional if you can make one or two storage racks as roll-out cabinets. You can try yourself as a DIY that is easy to pull and access the things inside the storage spaces. Based on the depth of the cabinet, it can be placed parallel to the width for arranging more storage spaces.

Container storage drawers
To store containers, we generally have a separate place, but if any extra place is required in your kitchen, you can fix racks and shelves on the walls of the kitchen. This will provide you some more place, and also it is easy to cut, shape, and fix on the free walls without consuming your floor space.

Spice racks
Simple sloppy racks can be created for the spices. Often, finding out the spices becomes difficult from a mess while cooking. So, first of all, fill the spices in transparent small containers and place them on the sloped racks. This will help in finding the containers easily and quickly.

Flip and drop drawers
Another best way to place the drawers is to keep them below 5 to 6 feet. When we find reaching our hands above difficult, both the panels and the kitchen cabinets can be used for storing containers, forks, and spoons.

Vertical panels
For kitchen cabinets with large space, sorting dishes, lids and plates can become difficult at times. You can separate the space by putting vertical panels that will help you in sorting out the crockery instantly. No longer have to search here and there to look for any particular crockery.

Horizontal panels
If the distance between two racks of the cabinet is quite large, then you can set some horizontal panels in this extra space. Often, the lids and pot covers need some extra place, especially for easy access and to avoid damages to the lids.

Dustbin storage
The dustbin is always preferred to be covered, and so you can find a space or a cabinet to keep your dustbin under the sink of your kitchen. The panels should be similar to other kitchen cabinets so that they provide the same impression. Your dustbin remains covered and the aesthetic of the kitchen is not disturbed.

Drawer divider
Most of us have larges spaces inside the drawers, but the entire space is not properly utilized. If specific dividers for separation are provided inside the drawers, the things will remain in place. A significant increase in the storage space will be possible if the dividers are placed within the drawers.
